Gezixuan reported on November 11 that according to Yonhap News Agency, BMW Group's South Korean branch said today that by 2027, it will invest 65 billion won (IT Home note: currently about 335 million yuan) in the Anseong Regional Logistics Center (RDC), expanding the total area of the park to 1.5 times the current size.

BMW Korea announced the plan at a press conference today at its logistics center in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province.

According to reports, the total area of the logistics center will be expanded from the current 57,000 square meters to 88,000 square meters in 2027, equivalent to 12 football fields. The number of parts stored in the logistics center will increase from the current 60,000 (more than 4.76 million) to more than 97,000 (more than 7.72 million).

BMW Korea invested 130 billion won (currently about 670 million yuan) in 2017 to build a regional logistics center in Anseong. Including the investment plan announced on the same day, the company's cumulative investment in the logistics center will reach 195 billion won (currently about 1.005 billion yuan).

According to the company's statistics, there are more than 733,000 BMW vehicles registered in South Korea so far, doubling in the past seven years. Last year, BMW overtook Mercedes-Benz in South Korea in sales and topped the annual sales list.
